Welcome
to Keyboarding!
I am glad to be here and I am glad
that you are here too!
J
TEKS for
Tech
Apps * Keyboarding
Keyboarding
is TOUCH typing, with emphasis on skill, accuracy, and speed. You
will receive ˝ HS credit for this class! You will be formatting,
proofreading and printing various types of documents.
Applications—Keyboarding
software for skill and timed writings. MS Word for creating the
various documents.
Hardware—computer,
keyboard, mouse, printer.
Materials needed:
You will need a FOLDER (paper with pockets and brads) to
store lined notebook paper, and all handouts/printouts. This folder
should be brought to class every day, along with a pen OR pencil.
General Rules and Procedures:
Never touch any part of the computer while the teacher or a
classmate is speaking to the class. Food and drinks are not
allowed, this includes gum (as long as I don’t see/hear it, I am
happy!) Always read the board and start the day’s warm-up
exercises as soon as you enter the room.
Always sit in your assigned seat.
Do not send ANYTHING to the printer without permission.
When instructed to do so, quietly walk to the printer for YOUR
papers, STAPLE and turn in to your class period basket.
Respect yourself, your teacher and your classmates.

Absences:
You
MUST come to tutorials BEFORE or AFTER SCHOOL once for each
class period that you miss (including classes missed while
with the nurse, principal, school activities, ISS, etc.) within
3 days of the absence. You must make-up the work that you
missed in class. This is very important, as almost 100 percent
of your work and practice is done IN CLASS!
Tutorial times: 6:50 - 7:10 M-F
2:45 - 3:15 M, T & F
***You may also ask
for a pass to come in during the advisory class, 7th pd***
