Three college
scholarships are available to senior high school student-athletes who have
surmounted their life circumstances and distinguished themselves both I the
classroom and in athletic endeavors. Persevering through adversity is the

the 2007-2008 academic year USA Funds will award up to 3.2 million in
renewable scholarships to students demonstrating a financial need. ACT Poster Concept
Contest Students can enter the
contest by designing a poster that encourages students to attend college
and to take the ACT as their college entrance exam. !st place

Scholarship - You are not required
to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. Students must
submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to one of the two
questions that are posted on the website. Al's Formal Wear
Salute to Education Scholarship Program They will offer
two $2,500 college scholarships. Entries are accepted September 30th
until May 5th. The scholarship committee will review all
applications and choose the recipients by July 31, 2006. Visit one

The Culinary Institute of America offers a $4,000 CIA scholarship if
yours is one of the 14 regional gold-medal pies selected by the panel of
judges. To enter you must be at least a junior in high school and a
permanent resident of the United States. All-Ink College Scholarship Program
Open to all students who have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. Must complete
application on-line. American Fire Sprinkler Association
This scholarship is designed to provide you with financial aid for
education and at the same time introduce you to the industry. The student
must submit a 1,000 word essay on how fire sprinklers function and where
they are located in your community. The paper must include a bibliography
and is submitted online. $13,000 will be awarded to 7 winners. Only the
first 1,000 eligible essays will be accepted. American Legion National High School
Oratorical Contest The subject to be used in the Oratorical
Contest must be on some phase of the Constitution of the United States
which will give emphasis to the attendant duties and obligations of a
citizen to our government. The speech must be at least 3 minutes but
not more than 5 minutes. If you are interested in this contest

Carr Academic Scholarship
These scholarships are awarded on a
competitive basis, with priority given to individuals of high academic
ability. Student must rank in the top 15% and score a minimum 1140
SAT or 25 ACT. AnyCollege.Net Scholarships
AnyCollege.Net scholarships are given away randomly to college bound
students regardless of GPA or test scores. To enter, students simply need
to go to http://www.anycollege.net
and click on the “Win a Scholarship” button that is located on the “Start
College Search” page. After filling out a short application form,
students can click on the “Submit Form” button and they are automatically
registered. The Association
for Compensatory Educators of Texas - This association offers
twenty $1,000 scholarships to students who have been enrolled in a
compensatory education program. These programs include Title 1, ESL,
Migrant or Homeless programs. Ayn Rand Institute
Essay
contests for high school students on Ayn Rand's Books Anthem and The
Fountainhead. First prize for Anthem is $2,000 and first prize for

Program For high school students with documented asthma and have

Scholars Program Collins Scholars are awarded 3,900 each year,
renewable for 4 years. Students must have an ACT of 28 or SAT of
1250 and graduate in the top 25% of their class. Best Buy Scholarship
Established to
reward well-rounded students who have given back to their community. Blinn College Exemplary
Student Scholarship Program This
scholarship is $1,000 per semester. Students must be a high school
graduate by August 2008 and have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Boston University, Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. Scholarship Competition Student must have a GPA of 3.5
in a very demanding college preparatory curriculum, be top 10%, have an
SAT of 1250 or higher or ACT of 28 or higher and be recommended by a
teacher. Brazoria County Head Start and Early Head
Start Programs To apply for this scholarship you must be a graduating
senior who has plans to attend college or trade school and you must be a

Applicant must be the son or daughter of a current Brazoria-Galveston CFB
member and a graduating senior of a Brazoria or Galveston county high

Company The Foundation for Rural
Service (FRS) through its partnership with the National Telecommunications
Cooperative Association (NTCA), promotes, educates and advocates to the
public, rural, telecommunications issues in order to sustain and enhance
the quality of life within communities throughout rural America.
There are 25 $2,000 scholarships. Completed applications must be

Brazosport Center
Stage Scholarship
Eligible students
must show outstanding aptitude and ability, as well as exhibit a continuing
interest in Dance, Drama, Technical Theater, Vocal or Instrumental Music.
They must also demonstrate a commitment to scholastics and education by a
grade point average of 85 or better. Brazosport College Scholarship Program
Brazosport College offers over 80 different scholarships looking at both
academic ability and financial need. Applicants must be accepted for
admissions to Brazosport College, maintain at 2.0 GPA and submit a letter
of recommendation. Brazosport College Wise Scholarship
The is a 1 year $1,000 scholarship. Student must be in the upper 25% of
their graduating class and must maintain a 3.0 GPA to continue receiving the
scholarship for second semester. Burger King Scholars
The student
must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, work an average of 15 hours per week,
demonstrate participation in community service, and demonstrate financial
need. Business and Professional Women Houston
Inc. Scholarship
Business and
Professional Women’s Club of Houston strives to help students who need
financial help to begin their way of furthering their education. Students
must fill out the application and write an essay on why they would like to
be awarded this scholarship. Cat Lift Trucks - as a part of their
support of the 2005 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and local community,
they will donate three $1,000 scholarships to outstanding students from
public and/or private schools in Brazoria, Harris, Chambers, Fort Bend,
Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery and Waller Counties. Complete

Technology BP
Exploration and Production, Inc. and The Dow Chemical Company have once
again donated scholarship monies to help students pursue Process Technology
degrees. Scholarships of up to $2,000 per student are available to those who

Coca Cola Scholarship Recipients are
well-rounded individuals with highly developed interests in their
community. They balance extra-curricular activities with strong academic
performance. They are the leaders of tomorrow. Students must
apply online. $3 million in scholarships will be awarded.
Coca-Cola "Share The Dream" Essay Contest
Grades 9-12 are eligible for these scholarships. The essay topic
is "Who speaks for or inspires your generation and what are they
saying? If you think no one does, what needs to be said?". 1st prize is $2,500 and a personal computer. Danforth Scholars Program at Washington
University This program is open to prospective undergraduate or
graduate students applying to Washington University. Undergraduates
will be considered by nomination only. Dennis R. Edwards
Memorial Scholarship The
scholarship if offered by the Martin Luther King Celebration Commitee of
Brazoria County. Applicants must be African American, residents of
Brazoria County and be an active participant in church and civic
activities. Applications are in the guidance office. Designing Our Future Scholarship Program
A $1,000 award will be available to graduating seniors of 2004. Recipients
must meet the application criteria outlined in application as well as
displaying serious intent to pursue an architectural course of study in
college. Dick Mitchell Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be
the son or daughter of a current Texas Farm Bureau member, must have
completed the TFB Citizenship Seminar and must be a confirmed junior or
senior in high school. Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarship
Juniors with at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA for juniors who
are multitalented, take the lead, may have overcome obstacles and who are
giving back to their communities. Ten $25,000 scholarships are
available. The applicant must write a criteria statement that discusses
your most significant accomplishments. Dodge/FFA/American Farm Bureau Federation
Applicants must be
members of FFA and a member of a Farm Bureau family. Donna Reed Performing Arts Scholarships
National scholarships for high school seniors to your college of choice. "Don't Mess With Texas" Scholarship
Program The scholarship will recognize the achievements of Texas
high school seniors who have taken leadership roles to prevent litter in
their schools or communities. Dow Chemical Company
University of Texas Alumni Endowed Scholarship in Business Administration,
Engineering and Natural Sciences
The amount of each award will be $1,000. Students must be children
or grandchildren of employees. There are several different deadlines
