Parenthetical Documentation
(Internal Documentation)
Below are three examples of parenthetical documentation.
In one example, the information is found on one page of a book. It is documented in this manner: (Groneman 143).
In another example, the information used begins on one page and continues on the next. It is documented like this: (Wagner 27-28).
In another example, a quote is used. It is documented like this: "Smaller versions are available for the home workshop" (Jackson 101).
See the section of the paragraph that is printed below illustrating uses of parenthetical documentation.
The portable circle saw makes many of the same cuts a table saw does, but it is much easier to use. The blade can be adjusted much like the blade on the table saw. Unlike other stationary saws, portable circle saws are very light-weight and usually guided free handed (Wagner 27-28). "All portable circular saws should be fitted with a fixed upper blade guard" (Jackson 85). These saws are very popular in the building trade as well as the home workshop (Groneman 143). A portable saw is popular mainly because of its easy use and ability to cut anything with the proper blade.
